BENEFITS TO TRAINEES



Investment 2020 allows you to gain valuable work experience in some of the biggest names in asset management. By joining Investment 2020 we aim to ensure that all our trainees have a consistent, positive experience regardless of the firm they are in. So we work closely with the member firms to make sure this happens. Vacancies are advertised on the Investment 2020 website, and on other recruitment sites, such as, Graduate Prospects, Working for Youth, e-financial, Not Going To Uni, Milkround, the Big Choice and Directions. In each case there will be a link to the sponsor firms' site.

A contract with a fair pay and benefits package

If your successful and get into a trainee scheme, usually be offered a fixed term contract for one year. You can expect a salary at least in line with the London Living Wage: £16,500 to £21,000 is typically the current starting level with normal company benefits.

We will ask you to give your contact details to Investment 2020 so you can be introduced to, and become part of, the Investment 2020 community. Because this provides you with lots of other benefits.

Trainee events

As part of Investment 2020, we are keen to support you as much as possible. So, we schedule a range of events specifically for trainees in the Investment 2020 programme. These events usually take place at one of the sponsor firm's offices, but the Investment 2020 team take care of managing the events. At these events, we invite senior leaders from all aspects of investment management to present on a range of specialised topics: including distribution, marketing, investments and personal development. We have also invite fund managers to present on various aspects of their role - providing insight that isn't easy for you to access elsewhere. Whilst at the event, you are also given time to network with other trainees from across the Investment 2020 network. So, you may even make a few friends in the industry too.

Learning and development support that is relevant to your role

Not only do you get 'on the job' training to give you the hands on skills and experience you need to secure permanent work. Once you start your trainee programme, you will receive: Induction training: on the industry and on the firm you are joining. You will also have the opportunity to get a qualification, e.g. CISI Introduction to Investment, the Foundation Qualification.

Our firms commit to providing regular feedback from HR and the line manager during the year as well as a mentor within the firm - if not the line manager then one from another department.

Last but not least, all trainees are given unlimited access to training and resources via the trainee section of our website www.investment2020.org.uk. Here you can view online training on developing your career and achieving your goals, as well as blogs from thought leaders in the industry. You can even interact with other investment 2020 trainees via the live chat rooms.
